It was when I went to Goldsmiths to study Textiles that I was first introduced to the work of this particular alumni. If told then that one day I would be regularly making boxes for such an artist I obviously would not have believed it. It is such a privilege to be part of this ongoing project. Each Index Card Box I make is covered in the same bright blue buckram and detailed with a metal label holder. Yinka Shonibare’s practice has long been affiliated with African Wax Print cloth and each box in lined in a different pattern specially selected for the purpose. I really can’t wait to see them all lined up together one day.
