This commission comprised of an album and accompanying box to document an epic journey. I made the album, with each page big enough to display two 6 x 4” photographs, in the traditional way with cloth jointed pages. The cover was then made in a Quarter style with the spine in one colour and the sides in another. In this instance we had the spine in Sweetheart pink and the sides in Mustard, an absolutely glorious combination. For the box exterior my client selected Olive green which worked so beautifully with the album choices. The Sweetheart pink and Mustard were also used to line the box trays. Within the box the album sat on a shelf with a recessed compartment beneath to hold ephemera collected on the adventure from, as the title depicts, home to home. I can’t express how much I enjoy creating pieces like this that encapsulate an event or experience. I love the combination of objects and images, its like a museum in a box, so perfect.
